21CN - What it is. How Entanet is involved
21CN is the name given to BT’s next generation network programme, under which it is creating an IP-based national fibre network to enable communication in a range of formats and support the demand for voice and data convergence. One of the most significant benefits of the network is the flexibility of choice and control that customers will gain in the way they use the connectivity services made available. 21CN will enable ISPs to provide faster and more stable broadband at ADSL2+ speeds as well as Quality of Service (QoS) options for customers who wish to be able to prioritise traffic.
Entanet has been proactively involved in the development of 21CN, being particularly influential in representing the channel by helping shape the network, the characteristics of the service offerings and the methodology that will be applied to migrating customers from 20C to 21C.
Under 21CN Entanet has made significant investment in its own network, allowing it to take WBC (Wholesale Broadband Connect) and so provide a number of new broadband products that enable Partners to compete effectively in the market.
