EWCS Broadband

In addition to providing a range of resalable Entanet branded broadband products based on WBC, Entanet is providing a managed wholesale service that enables Partners to deliver their own branded features and benefits of ADSL2+ to customers without having to invest significantly in WBC directly. This is significant since WBC will eventually replace BT’s current method of delivering connectivity via IPStream Centrals and requires service providers to connect to any/all of the 20 WBC ‘Aggregation Points’, depending on their coverage requirements. WBC will only be available at exchanges that have been 21CN enabled.

EWCS (Entanet Wholesale Carrier Services) Broadband enables Partners to benefit from offering ADSL2+ with additional options such as QoS to their customers. It particularly benefits those service providers currently investing in IPStream Centrals to accommodate their bandwidth requirements and add the additional components that are required to make up a fully managed product, such as L2TP Partners. EWCS Broadband supports IPStream Connect and gives Partners the option to provide IPStream based services over Entanet’s next generation network until the rollout of WBC is complete.

By creating EWCS Broadband, Entanet is able to more flexibly and competitively provide its channel Partners with a cost-effective managed WBC service. Entanet’s flexibility means Partners are not required to commit to large bandwidth or long term commercial terms. It particularly enables smaller ISPs to take advantage of the opportunities within 21CN without needing to make major investment into their own networks. Rather than ‘build’ their networks to the nodes, they are able to take advantage of Entanet’s extensive presence throughout the UK and connect at more suitable locations such as major data centres. Where required, Entanet will build to the service provider.
