Entanet defies current economic trend with second consecutive Techtrack growth ranking
22nd September 2009
Leading voice and data communications provider Entanet has retained a significant ranking in the 2009 Sunday Times Techtrack 100 due to impressive levels of organic growth, defying current recession trends.
The Sunday Times Techtrack 100 ranks the fastest growing privately-owned technology companies in the UK based on sales growth over a three year period. Entanet’s growth exceeded 52%, placing it 61st for the second year running.
Commenting on the achievement, Entanet’s Head of Marketing, Darren Farnden said: “We are extremely proud of this achievement. Despite the current economic climate, Entanet has continued to grow, expanding its customer base across numerous product groups. Perhaps even more noteworthy is the fact that our growth has been entirely organic rather than a consequence of acquiring other companies and their customer bases.”
Farnden attributes this achievement to Entanet’s continued commitment to re-investment and innovation. “We’ve taken huge strides in the past two years, extending our UK footprint and staying at the forefront of technology development. For example, we remain the only non-BT company to have taken Wholesale Broadband Connect in full, a strategy that enabled us to become the first communications provider to launch 21CN-based ADSL2+ services and thus deliver potentially faster and more stable broadband to customers. Throughout 2009 we’ve continued to expand and develop our Next Generation Network to efficiently support our high quality voice and data connectivity products and we are currently involved in trials of FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet), which is capable of providing access speeds of up to 40Mbps. These steps are helping to sharpen the competitive edge of the many channel partners that Entanet serves.”
Mark Taylor, director of developer and platform evangelism at Microsoft, the title sponsor of the Techtrack 100, commented “It is great to see privately-owned technology companies delivering sustained growth, and making a positive contribution to the technology industry as a whole despite the economic slowdown.”
This achievement is the latest in a long line of accolades for Entanet. In 2008 the high quality of Entanet’s services were recognised when it was presented with the ISPA (Internet Service Provider Association) Awards for ‘Best Internet Telephony’ and ‘Best Consumer Email’ and its significant organic growth levels were acknowledged by The Sunday Times Techtrack 100 and Deloitte Fast 50.
This success continued in 2009 with Entanet short-listed for a number of leading industry awards programmes. Earlier this month, the company was also listed in the TechMedia Invest Top 100.
Entanet operates via a network of wholesale and resale channel partners to provide high quality voice and data connectivity solutions including broadband, leased lines, VoIP and traditional telecoms.
