Entanet and Entacall integrate operations to offer fully converged services
10th November 2006
Entanet, the business-to-business ISP, is formally integrating the operations of its sister telecommunications company, Entacall, into its data connectivity operations. The move creates a competitive convergence proposition and adds value to its relationship with channel Partners by simplifying the procedure for enquiring about and ordering voice and data services for their customers.
With Entanet International Ltd formally acquiring the Entacall Telecommunications Ltd business, the combined business will offer a single, complete portfolio of data and voice connectivity solutions, from simple broadband to fully hosted services. It will enable channel Partners to 'cherry pick' from Entanet's range of voice and data services, including wholesale line rental; pay-as-you-go, allowance based and unlimited broadband options; Voice over IP packages; and traditional telecoms products.
Commenting on the integration, Entanet Managing Director John Tsai says "The growing significance of IP in the home and workplace is driving demand for the convergence of voice and data services among UK customers. Furthermore, the latest announcements around BT's 21st Century Network will prove to be a catalyst for the adoption of converged solutions. Combining our telecoms and broadband connectivity services means that Entanet Partners will be well placed to address the needs of their SMB and corporate customers. Whether it's simple line rental, broadband provisioning, IP telephony implementation or Carrier Pre-Select, they'll be able to provide the service as Entanet or as a 'white-label' service."
Formed early in 2004 to satisfy demand for voice communications services among Entanet's reseller customer base, Entacall enjoyed rapid growth in providing traditional telecoms services and more recently in its development of a comprehensive VoIP platform for the channel's SMB and corporate customers. Entanet's Voice Business Development Manager, Elsa Chen, says it makes perfect sense to combine the two operations: "An increasing number of our Partners are implementing converged voice and data services for their customers. With the integration complete, they will be able to order from, pay and receive comprehensive support from a single supplier rather than deal with two separate companies. This move not only simplifies the way they partner with us, it also creates tremendous opportunity to generate additional revenue for their business."
Talking about the process, Tsai explains: "In the coming months our technical and commercial teams will be working extensively to complete the integration and we're keeping Partners informed of progress as we reach particular milestones. In the first of these, we've offered Partners a complimentary VoIP account which enables them to make calls to key Entagroup telephone numbers free of charge."
Tsai says the move affirms Entanet's position as a vibrant, dynamic and ambitious service provider. Dual-play converged solutions are increasingly playing a significant part in businesses' operations as they seek to manage IT as a service to improve productivity and reduce cost. He says Entanet Partners will be ideally placed to capitalise on the opportunity that this demand creates.
