When you’ve worked hard to win valuable new business and get to placing your order with us, the last thing you want is any nasty delays that prevent you getting your customer up and running – especially for things that can easily be avoided!
One of the main factors that will influence how quickly your order will progress lies right at the start of process with the Customer Requirements Form (CRF).
Providing detailed and accurate information on your CRF means the order can be signed and validated and the provisioning journey can proceed smoothly – so to help you we’ve come up with six simple tips for CRF completion:
1. Address accuracy
Misspelling a street name or not including the building or unit number can delay your order. The easiest way to avoid this is to check that your details match up to Royal Mail’s details: https://www.royalmail.com/find-a-postcode
2. Room and floor accuracy
If you’ve put ‘n/a’ in the room section of the CRF there is no guarantee that an engineer will know where in a building the required works need to be carried out – a simple description of where the room is and which floor it’s on if it’s in a multi storey building will help to avoid any unnecessary delays.
3. Asbestos registers
It’s important that you’re accurate when telling us the age of the building where the works will be carried out. If the property was built pre 2000 then you will need to include a copy of the asbestos register with the CRF. Failure to supply one when required will lead to painful cancellation charges as well as delays to the order.
4. Site contact details
To ensure engineer visits are completed in a smooth and timely manner, we need to have contact details for someone who will be available at the site at the time of the appointment. In some cases partners have put their own contact details in here and it’s meant the engineer can’t get into the building because they aren’t physically on site.
5. Building manager / route approver
This isn’t a specific field in the CRF but getting this information to us in the notes early doors enables the engineer to speak to the right person and more accurately plan the works required to make the customer appointment much more efficient.
6. Landlord contact details
Again not a required field in the CRF, but including these details in the notes means that in cases where wayleave is required it can negate the lead times required to complete this process.
